S.I. MAORI SEAT

GOVERNMENT CANDIDATE FROM N. ISLAND ? BLENHEIM, July 30. A conference of Natives, representing lhe northern half of the South Island, vrLh one ,representative from Banks Peninsula, was held at Waikawa Pa (Marlborough) last night. It selected the name of Te AVhiti Love of Wel’ington, for submission to the Dominion Executive of the Nationalist Party for endorsement official National candidate for the Southern Maori seat. A strong executive was set up and it was agreed unanimously to support Mr Love, or any other candidate endorsed by 'lhe Central Executive. Other names before the meeting were those of Hoani MacDonald (Marlborough) and David Parkes (Mo'imkn ).
