MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE. At the meeting of the Management Committee of the West Coast Rugby Union, there were present Messrs. J. Guy (acting chairman), T. I*. Hyun, F. W. Raillie. C. R. Ro linson, J. Kyle, F. Eggleton. W. Williams, T. Mclntosh and the Secretary (Mr. J. E. Joyce). Apologies for absence were received' from Messrs. A. A. Adams and K. P. Kania. Blaketown C’lnbG application for the reclassification of S. Eyeington, A. Alderton, \V. Mindiin and F. Goodall from senior to junior, was granted. Advice was received from the MarlhoiuUgh Union that rhe \.Z. Union had appointed Mr. A. D. Clifton, of Wellington as referee of the Seddon Slue d match on Saturday next. Permission v. as granted to Cobden juniors to travel to Moana on Sunday next. W. R. I’niacke’s explanation that he could not attend the representative match last Saturday owing to his working, was accepted. Mr. Williams reported that Mrs. Russell and Mr. M Leod had rendered valuable assistance, providing a private room for the in hired players last Sat- : unlay, when M. Thompson dislocated his collarbone, and G. T. Nolan sustained torn muse es. Mr. McLeod had also offered to board rep. players prior to the representative team's departure. Mr. Eggleton remarked that Dr. Wilkinson had also rendered assistance to the injured players at the ground. It was decided to send a letter of thanks to Mrs. Russell and Mr. McLeod for kindness to the injured players, and for the offer to board rep. players. Mr. Baillie reported that many promising juniors had taken part in the West-Coast-Ruller fixture, West Coast securing a good win, playing good football. The Marlborough Union wrote asking that the Union protest to the New Zealand Union against its action in deciding not to make a grant for the tournament this season. It was decided to make this protest, and to ask the Roller, Nelson and Golden Ray Unions to make similar protests. It was decided that the tournament be conducted at Rugby Park on August 29, 30 and 31. in the school holidays. The Secretary said there would be 60 visiting players requiring to be billetted, who would arrive on the Wednesday and would leave again on return on the Sunday morning. There would bn two games each day. Messrs Edwards, Adams, Rollinson. Kania, Tempero and Jas Steel, junr., were appointed a sub-committee to deal with billet ting and other arrangements for the tournev. The New Zoa’and Union advised that in connection with the protest of the Blaketown Club it had upheld the Union’s decision, that the match with Stars be replaved if necessary. Accounts totalling £79 were passed for payment It wn” resolved that a fourth grnne match. Technical A v.
