The “News-Chronicle’s” Berlin correspondent reveals that the authorities are prohibiting mob attacks against Jews. The authorities arc pieparing lor the- complete cultural 0.-tracism or the Jews. Herr Sinkel has been appointed as C’ommiyar for Jewish Culture. This appointment heralds an intellectual Ghetto, thus preventing non-aryans from coming into contact with German arts. RISE OF PRICES. WORKERS FEELING PINCH. (Received July 29 at 8.40 p.m.) LONDON, July 29. The “Manchester Guardian’s” Berlin correspondent says; Rising prices are presenting a serious problem to the Germas workers, whose wages are subject to numerous deductions for Parly and other purposes. Meat has risen in price by ten per cent. Butter costs 3s per lb. Textile prices have increased, and the quality if the goods is inferior, because of admixture of substitutes.
STRIKES INCREASE. GOVERNMENT GIVING GROUND. (Received July 29 at 8.20 p.m.) LONDON, July 28. The “Daily Telegraph’s” Berlin correspondent says: The secret police have made an inquiry into a series of fires and explosions. These have indicated that discontent among the German workers is leading to . sabotage. Strikes are increasing, but instead of repressing them, the Government, in many cases, has ordered, as a concession, the payment of. increased wages. NAZIS UPSET OVEE OPPOSITION. BERLIN, July 28. The anti-Nazi demonstrations at New York have incensed Germany. The “Tageblatt” accuses officials, including Mavor La Guardia, of blind hostility. Nevertheless, po'itieal circles realise that German anti-Semitism is creating a wave of foreign unpopularity against' the Reich.
