The Sydney li Morning Herald’s” Canberra correspondent says: The figures presented to the Loan Council’s meeting yesterday indicated that the deficits of the State for the current financial year will not exceed 4| million pounds. The Chairman of the Loan Council informed representatives of the S'atcs that the Commonwealth would not be able to repeat the grant of two million pounds to the States next, year. Some increase in the aggregate deficits of the States next year must therefore be expected.
