A message from Annarbor ( . in Michigan, says that Jesse Owens, of Ohio State University, a Negro star, broke three world’s records, ami tied wi/h a fourth world record at the thirty-fifth Western Conference Track and Field championship.

He established a new broad jump record of 26 feet 8G inches, thereby -surpassing the performance of Chomei Nambu, of Japanif. in by 6’. inches. Owens won the low hurdles in 22.6 seconds, as compared with the recognised mark of 23 seconds. He also won the 220yds das'h in 20.3 seconds, which is three-tenths of a second faster than the recognised mark. Owens also won the hundred yards dash in 9.4 seconds, thus tieing with Wykoff’s accepted world record.
