REEFTON - MATCH. The junior match between Waratah and Cronadun at Reefton was a good display and the teams were: Waratahs: W. Barnett, W. Mcllendry, W. Honey, G. Bonifacio, K. Cutbush, Richdale, Jonson, A. Gibbilini, 11. Patterson, lieslop, Mann, Bolito, Cochrane, Wildermoth. Cronadun: Sara, Paul, W. Bonifacio, J. Barnett, K. Archer, J. Gilroy, T. Gilroy, J. Ecklund, W. Cutbush, P. Brazil, Sullivan, Gibbilini 2, Currie.

From the kick off the game showed promise of being very even and both sides showed determination to throw the ball round and play was fast with both sets of forwards rushing play with short passing bouts. Waratahs drew blood with a clever try by Honey, which Bonifacio nicely converted. Waratah 5; Cronadun 0. This stirred Cronadun and Archer and Co. rushed played down to the Reds goal line where Gilroy was unlucky in his dash for the line, being nicely grassed by W. Barnett. Both sets of backs were now swinging into attack and some, very pretty movements were witnessed. Gilroy, Barnett, Cutbush, Sara and Bonifacio taking a prominent part for Cronadun. While Patterson, Barnett (W.), Honey, Bonifacio and Bolitho were always to be watched for Waratah. A high well placed kick by Mellen dry and smart following up by Heslop caught Cranodun napping and lleslop got a smart try, which was converted. Waratah 10; Cronadun 0 I Cronadun set about overtaking the lead and Gibbilini, Sullivan and Archer kept the Reds busy and W. Cutbush gave the Red defence some anxious moments with his fast following up. Waratah forwards were now giving their backs plenty of the ball which they made good use of and only good defence on Cronadun’s part now kept them out. Cronadun livened after half time and combined better, but could not cross the Red line. The Red defence due to good kicking by MeHendry and rush stopping by Bolitho, Patterson and . Honey, and generally good low tackling. Mann, Wildermoth, Richdale and Jonson led Reds into Cronadun’s territory while from a rush a forward scored. Waratah 13; Cronadun 0. The game ended with Cronadun on the attack. Gilroy made another good run, only to be grassed by Bonifacio. Mr. H. Kearns was a very capable referee.
