ST. COLUMBA CLUB

ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the St. Columba. Club, held in the Club rooms last evening, was (well attended, the President. Mr L. Phillips, presiding. The annual report (previously published in the “Argus”) was read and adopted The balance sheet., which showed a small debit on the year’s working, was read and adopted. The Secretary explained that this debit could be wiped out from the Conference special fund, which showed a substantial credit. Bev. Father J. Holohon paid a tri bute to the retiring officers, expressing great satisfaction a.t the successful carrying out of the year’s programme, especially the arrangements for the Easter Conference. The President (Mr L. Phillips) ami the Secretary (Mr J. I. Mcllroy') were specially commended for their zeal and competence. Fr. Holohan hoped that members, during the. ensuing year, Would avail themselves fully of the splendid facilities which the Club rooms now offered as a result of the renovations and improvements which had recently been carried out. Mr L. Phillips, before retiring, thanked the Executive and all active members of the Club for .their loyal co-operation throughout the year. Election of Officers. The election of officers resulted as follows: — Preside.nl. Mr J. C. Gilbert; Spiritual Director, Rev. Fr. J. Holohan; Honorary Vice-President, Rov. Brother Emilian; Vice-Presidents, Messrs M. Kelly, L. Phillips, B. E. Older; Executive, Messrs P. Blanehfield. R. McGurk, W. McGrath. J. Gilbert, T. Duffy. C. Heaphy; Secretary, Mr J. I. Mcllroy; Assistant-Secretary. Mr C. McGinley; Treasurer, Mr M. Kelly, Librarian. Mr J. Weir; Hon. Auditor, Mr M. Keating; Club critics, Messrs C. Fraser, W. MeGirath and A. M. Carroll; delegates to Competitions Society, Messrs M. Keating, A. M. Carroll and J. C. Gilbert.
