(Per Press Association A DUNEDIN, May 8. In the Supreme Court, Harry Kirkland, was found not guilty on two charges of indecently assaulting a girl at Chaslands. AUCKLAND, May 8. True bills were returned in all of the eighteen cases at the Supreme Court sittings. WELLINGTON, May 8. Five Japanese traders. S. Saito, Y. Midzuno, J. Shirai, M. Mori and S. Itoh, arrived from Australia to-day, the mission being an endeavour to increase the export trade of Nagoya, which now possesses a large harbour. They intend to hold an exhibition of samples in Auckland, whence they are returning to Sydney in order to depart for Japan on June 1. Interviewed, Al. Shirai said he thought Japan’s export trade was improving. From January to March, it was quiet, but had since picked up. NAPIER, May 7. “Otatara,” the residence of Mrs. M. A. Perry, was destroyed by fire this morning. No water was available and a high wind swept the flames through the dwelling, which was not occupied. The outbreak was discovered by a pass-er-by at 2 a.m. Very little of the furniture was saved.
