(Per Press Association). ASHBURTON, Alay 3. At the Magistrate’s Court, Archibald Templemau admitted two charges re lating to two night of selling liquor without a license. On the first he was lined £2O and on the second was ordered to come up for sentence it called within 12 months. Airs Templeman admitted assisting her husband in the commission of the offence, and was fined £5 with costs in each instance 10s. Five men were each fined £2 with 10s costs for being o'n the premises. Templeman has previous convictions. AVE LL ING TON, May 3. Henry Pearson Comrie, 53, retired railway employee, to-day admitted charges of stealing, between October. 1.933, and Alarch, 1'.r35, Ihe proceeds from euchre parties and entertainments, alos subscriptions and donations to the Paekakariki District Nurse Committee, of which In* was secretary ami treasurer. lie was placed on probation for two years. £66 7s 2d to be refunded at a rate to be fixed by the Probation Ollicer. Accused bore an excellent character. His excuse for the position disclosed was that he had been a bit careless.
