_A company which has been prospecting the Moonlight Extended gold claims, has finished its operations, the three boring machines having been removed. The nuichineiy of the Argo Dredge, Blackball, is now being installed. Electric sd, —; Epner Watut (2s paid) 5s Id, 5s sd; Worksop Extended 2s 6LI, 2s lOd; Alexander 16s. 18s 3d; Alexander (15s paid) 15s (id, 16s 3d: Argo Gold 1- sd, Is 6d; Bendigo IOZd, 114 d; Big River 2s sd, 2s 5-hl; Blackwater £1 10s 6d, £1 12s; Brian Boru 3Zd, 3jd: Gillespie’s Is 4d, Is 6d. Gold at London is £7 14s per ounce. Gillespie’s Beach Dredging Company reports the dredge is running through worked ground. To get into deeper and better ground will take about three ■weeks. It is anticipated that the returns for ‘this period will be low. In the year ended January 31st. the dredge of Stafford Gold .Dredging N.L., New Zealand, treated 80,728 cubic yards for 604 ounces of gold, valued at £4.624 in Australian curlency. The yield was equal to 13.741
a cubic yard, and costs were 7.44 d. The company was able to show a net profit of £1,844 for the period, and showed surplus liquid assets of £2.645 at January 31st. The company have installed amalgamating tables to catch the fine gold.
