SEXUAL CASES Ex-Schoolmaster’s Trial (Per Press Association.) BLENHEIM, March 13. Tn the Supreme Court, after a retirement of over five hours the jury disagreed onfall counts in the trial in which George Walker, aged 28, who formerly was the Schoolmaster at Havelock, was arraigned on twelve counts of alleged indecency. A now trial was ordered for March 28th. Three further charges were also deferred till then. Bail was renewed for Walker.
Sentence Quashed
INDECENT ASSAULT CASE. WELLINGTON, March 13. On Decqniber 6, 1934, J. V. Priestly pleaded guilty at Wellington to five charges of indecent assault on a male, and was sentenced by Mr Juslice Reed to bo detained for reformative purposes for a period not exceeding two years. To-day, the Court of Appeal made in order quashing that sentence, and substituted therefor an order that Priestly should oome up for sentence, ■f required., at anv time within two ■ ears. A DOMESTIC TROUBLE. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, March 13. Th'omas Carrol Russel Hunter, 50, butcher, was charged to-day with assaulting Janies King, so as to cause bodily harm, the charge being a sequel to an affair in a house in Ghuznee Street on the morning of March 3, when Hunter found his wife with King. Hunter pleaded not guilty ami after evidence was taken, was coir mitted to the Supreme Court for trial. King’s injuries are alleged to be the result iof being hit with a broken bo't lie. Accused was granted renewal of bail, but warm'd that he must not com municate with his wife, or he would bi l arrested.
