IN UNITED STATES. NEW WORK PLAN. (Aus & N.Z. Cable Assn.) NEW YORK, December 31. The new year finds the Federal relief administration facing a crisis, according to an Associated Press survey. During 1934, some three billion dollars was spent to succour about nineteen million persons. The 1935 policy will contain the complete elimination of the cash dole. It will mean the creation of emergency relief work to absorb a.s many of the unemployed as possible, with about four million who are “unemployables” being struck from the Federal rolls, and turned over to the States and the municipalities for care.
