CANADIAN DEALINGS RESTRICTED. WINNIPEG, October 5. The council of the Winnipeg Grain Exchange announced, an experiment aimed at the improvem<ent of the market machinery and regulation of opening quotations, effective on October 9, by which quotations at the opening for wheat and coarse grains will be determined by bids to purchase oi- offers to sell at a price not exceeding an eighth of a cent a bushel above 'or below >'he previous close. Also, quotations shall continue at variations not exceeding an eighth of a. cent a bushel until actual trade ia made, when the rules of the exchange will .appply prohibiting -members from offering to buy at a higher than the. current, selling price or to sell below the current bid price for future delivery of any grain deoil with on the trading floor. Officials said that the new regulations were not connected wi'th the recent, activity in grain circles, which followed vhe suggestion o f Air .L T AfcFarlaril, general manager of th*' Canadian AVheat Fool, to investigate futures trading.
