While not associating itself with merits or demerits of the British Israel Association case, ithe Club says emphatically that a system of regulation which allows an “unqualified’’ official to ban any broadcast without right of appeal is obviously wr ng in principle. Radio Interference NEW REGULATIONS. POWERS OF INSPECTORS. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, October 8. The long-awaited radio interference regulations are in the Gazette. From now on. it will be unlawful for any person to instal. use. seTI or manufacture any interfering equipment. whether a wireless telegraph io apparatus o T not. unless exemption is obtained under specified terms. by notice in writing require the owner er user of interfering equipment to take such of the following steps as he may in the circumstances think fit: — (a) To discontinue entirely the use of interfering equipment; (b) to discontinue using it except during specified hours; (c) to eliminate or keep e’iminafed the interferring effect of the equipment: (d) to reduce and keep reduced so as to l>o negligible in its interfering effect. Another clause in the regulations states that the use of apparatus in a licensed transmitting stairion. at the transmitting frequency or the time being nl’otted under the 1932 radio regulations, shall not bp deemed a breach of fhp new regulations, although there should be interference.
