LOAN CONVERSION
CHRISTCHURCH COUNCIL A COMPLETE JOB. (Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, October 8. ThiC Christchurch City Council ithis evening adapted a resolution for the conversion of all of the city loans’. There was some 'Opposition to the policy of 'the complete consolidation of the loans. This was on the ground that it would mean that the highlyrated central a rea wooikl have to bear an undue share of the interest on a burden tha)t was 'incurred, in part, by the suburban areas for their own special needs by the polls of the ratepayers. There was an alternaitive proposal for conversion, with a. consolidation, in twelve groups or areas. This was rejected, and the complete consolidation was adop’ted.
