HURDLES.—2—REVISION (Drink water) 1; 3 —Manawatu (Robinson) 2; 1— Esteem (Thomson) 3. Also started: 4—Terangitumai, 6 —No Humbug, 5 — Gold Ruler, B—Kotahieka, 7—Diamond. Manawatu and Diamond led for some distance but in the straight Revision headed the field. Won by two lengths, the same. Time 2.52 2-5. TRIAL HANDICAP.—I—PALM (W. Broughton) 1; 4—Midaere (Pine) 2; 6— Dialogist (B. H. Morris) 3. Also started: 12—Allspeed, 15 —Clenibroney, 2 — Balbus, s—Evasion, 9 —Kiatina, 13 —Gay Fire, 10—Rhoderick Dhu, 12— Statebank, 9—Golden Empire, B—Miss'fire,8 —Miss'fire, 7—Jubilee Song, 17—Royal Alliance, 3 —Redeem, 16—Waitohu. Allspeed, Waitohu, Evasion, Rhoderick Dhu and Royal Alliance fell three furlongs from home. Palm led throughout. Won by six lengths, three lengths. Time 1.2. Jockey Jenkins sustained two fractured ribs and cuts on the face. Marsh was also take to the Palmerston hospital suffering from a crushed kidney, and internal injuries. From the barrier Might and Princess Doreen took the lead. The latter dropped back at the entrance to the straight. Won by a length, three lengths. Time 1.53 4-5. PUKEHAK AKA ITA UK.—4—A RCTTC KING (Pine) 1; s—Gay Boy 2; 3 —De Trop 3. Also started: 2—Courtega, 6 —Lord Hereford. I—Queen’s1 —Queen’s Pride, 7—Linoleum. B—Outspan, 9—Redtop. From the start De Trop led with Gay Boy ami Queen’s Pride following. A great finish saw a head division each way, with Queen’s Pride fourth. Time 1.15. REK EREK E H ANDTCAP. —4— ROYAL ROUTINE (W. Broughton) 1; 5— Navaho (Pine) 2: I—Rereatu1 —Rereatu (Voitre) 3. Also started: 2—Cadland, 3— Slippery, 6—Eminent. Royal Routineled throughout with Navaho, Rereatu, and Cadland following. Won by throe lengths, half a length. Time 1.14. PAPr HACK—I—LEO COLOSSUS (B. I'. Morris) 1; 2 —Korero (Atkins)2: s—lnveresk5 —Inveresk (Voitre) 3. From the start Ekatere led for some distance but faded away enter- , ing the straight ami Dampier was prominent for a time. Won by a length, the same. Time 1.43. On tin- second day last year the tote handled £S,SSI ami £6,202/10/- to-day. The total for the meeting last year was £12,395, ami reached £10,807/10/- this vear.
