GREY J.C. DISTRICT COMMITTEE. The monthly meeting of the District Committee of the Greymouth Jockey Club was held yesterday afternoon. Present: Messrs. T. E. Coates (President), A. Beban, A. E. Kilgour, TV. H. Parfitt, D. J. Evans, and C. L. Kettle. An apolog.y for absence was receive.! from Mr. E. TV. Spencer. The N.Z. Racing Conference advised that C. J. Walsh’s trainer’s license had been renewed. The N.Z. Racing Conference advised that the Westland Racing Club had been granted permission to alter its dates from December 26 and 27, 1934, to December 26 and 29, 1934. The application of W. McKendry for a trainer’s license was recommended to the N.Z. Conference. GREYMOUTH JOCKEY CLUB.* At the monthly meeting of the committee of the Greymouth Jockey Club there were present Messrs. T. E. Coates (President), A. Beban, W. TL Parfitt, C. L. Kettle, G. R. Harker, W. H. Gieseking, and G. Blair. 'The resignation of Mr .1. S. Crooks as a member of the club was accepted. The annual statement of accounts disclosed a debit balance of £44. 7s l()d. The matter of the construction of a new grandstand to replace that destroyed by fire was discussed, but was further deferred until receipt of an architect’s plan. It was decided to hold the annual meeting on Friday, October 26, at 2.30 p.m. The programme for the club’s meeting on January 1 and 2, 1935, with stakes totalling £1,300, was approved as follows:—

First Day.—Novice Stakes, £65, 5A furlongs; Borough Trot, £75 (in harness), one mile, 2.27 class; County Handicap, of £75, one mile; Grey mouth Cup, £740, lj miles; Paroa Handicap, £75, 61 furlongs; Stewards’ Handicap Trot, £75, H miles, 3.3 class; Miners’ Hack Handicap, £BO, 61 furlongs; Brunner Handicap, £75, 7 furlongs. Second Day.—Trial Stakes, £65, 51 furlongs; Dobson Trot (harness), £75, one mile, 2.27 class; Kettle Memorial, £127, one mile; Blaketown Hack, £75, 64 furlongs; Electric Handicap, £75. 54 furlongs; New Year Trot (harness), £75, lj miles, 3.3 class; Dominion Hack, £BO, one mile; Walton Memorial. £75, 61 furlongs.
