PAHIATUA FIRE

TEN-ROOMED HOUSE LOST. (Per Press Association.) PAHIATUA, October 5. Fire demolished the ten-roomed house of G. Harold Smith at noon. The owner was absent at Rotorua. It being outside the borough boundary, the main water was unavailable for the brigade. The contents of a tank were pumped on, confining the flames to the roof till practically all of the contents were salvaged by w'illing onlookers. The insurances total £2OOO.
