FACING GERMANS. (Aus. & N Z. Cable Assn.) BERLIN, October 2. Germany is tightening her belt against the oncoming winter effects. The food regulations have alreadv shown ever-increasing prices. Tea is 7s a. pound, pork 27d, coffee ss, and clothes are 30 per cent, higher though the boards controlling trade arc doing their best to prevent the sudden rise. Collections by uniformed men for the. relief of the poor will recommence on October 9. The collections were stopped on June 30, when Hitler admitted that Roehm’s Storm Troopers had frittered away monies collected for the poor.
