(Our Own Correspondent.) REbIFTON, October 3. Owing ,to the resignation nt Mr Kissel I. of Yf iwheraiti School. Miss E. O’Brien has been appointed . re lieving teacher. There was again a large attend ance at the forty-fives tournament held at the Parish Hall hist even ing. no fewer than fifty-’T.vo parti'i pr.ting. ’l'he first prize was won b\ Mrs Hickey, who was successful iu nne games, and Mr Find, ay secured second prize" after playing off for it. Mrs Beyers, of Rotokohu, has been admitted to the hospital for medical treatment. Mrs S. Hocking, who is an inma/e of the Inangtihua Hospital, was oj.-er ated on for appendicitis. Mr W. B. Auld is shewing steady improvement. Mr I. Patterso n is visiting Christ church. Following a fall, of snow on th° Paparoa Ranges, last night was very cold. A frost was experienced hcr n this morning. Warmer temperatures however, have melted most of the srow, only the heavier fail on Gie mountain tops remaining.
