N.Z. DAIRY FARMERS

TRIBUTE TO LORD BLEDISLOE. (Per press Association.) WELLINGTON, October 3. Appreciation of His Excellency’s keen interest in the welfare of their industry will be expressed by the dairy farmers of the Dominion in an illuminated address which will be presented to Lord Bledisloe before his departure from New Zealand on the completion of his term as Governor-General. This mark of high esteem in which he is held by the farming community has been made possible by penny contributions from dairy factory suppliers throughout the length and breadth of the Dominion. Already nearly 50,000 farmers have contributed to the fund, and it is anticipated that this number will be considerably increased when the subscriptions are closed. A substantial surplus will fee available after defraying the cost of the illuminated address, and this will probably be handed to Massey Agricultural College or some other institution, to provide an annual prize fund perpetuating His Excellency’s name.
