OPERA HOUSE—MATINEE AND EVENING. A Hollywood beauty parade, made up of more than 500 of the most gorgeous girls in the film capital, was staged by Sammy Lee, Fox dance director, to choose 65 for the “Dance oi the Maidens,’’ 'which supplies a spectacular sequence in “1 Loved You, Wednesday,’’ to be screened at this afternoon’s matinee and evening. The girls not only had to pass the acid test of beauty of face and figure, but also had to qualify as interpretive dancers of unusual talent. Warner Baxter, Elissa Landi, Victor dory. Miriam Jordan and Laura Hope Orewg have the principal roles. The next chapter of the serial will be shown at the matinee only. The box plan is at Kilgou.r’s Warehouse, 'opposite Town Ha 18, and there is no extra charge for booking. SUNDAY NIGHT. “The, Night Mayor” and “Man Against Woman” will be shown on Sunday. Proceeds in aid of Mayor's Unemployment Fund. BLACKBALL—TO-NIGHT. “Heads We Go’’ will be screened to-night, and “I Loved You Wednesday’’ on Sunday. WAIUT A—SUNDAY “Should Ladies Behave” will be Jiown on Sunday. EDUCATIONAL CINEMA. Mr J. J. S. Cornes, 8.A., B.Sc., formerly Science Lecturer of the Christchurch Training College, will continue his tour of the West Coast towns this evening, by the screening at Wallsend of his educational pictures, headed by the film “The Covered Wagon.’’ Supports include his own film of penguins, etc., on Gatlins Coast, and a trip through Eglinton Valley, etc. Other films, more recently made for subsequent showing include. “The MuttonBird Industry” taken last May on the islands south of Stewart Island, and
a film of alluvial gold-mining, commencing with testing by boring in the Kaka Flat above the King Solomon Deep Lead, and finishing with dredging and sluicing as on the West Coast.
