' The weather report and forecast are as follows:— General situation: The present do p’ression is now passing to the eastward, off th Dominion, and an anticyclone is advancing across the Tasman. Forecast Winds moderate to strong, southwesterly ‘to southerly reaching gale force in places, but later moderating. Seas in New Zealand waters: Heavy on the West Coast of the North Island; elsewhere rough. Eastern Tasman sea; Strong, but decreasing, southwesterly winds and seas rough with heavy southerly swells Weather: Cold unsettled with- rain at times in most districts, a nd hail on parts of the East Coast, and snow on the high levels; but improving gradually, however, from to-morrow.
