FERRY DISASTER
170 Lives Lost IN INDIAN RIVER. (Received August 17 at 8.25 p.m.) CALCUTTA. August 17. Over 170 people, including many women and children, are feared ’o have been drowned in a ferry boat d saster, which occurred near Daribbai Ghat, in Bibar Province. The jy boat!, on which there were several bullocks, began to rock in a strong midstream current. Then the bullocks ran amok. They escaped into the river. The passengers became panic, stricken. They hushed to the side of the boat, which capsized.
