Byrd’s Ordeal (Received August 17 at 10.10 p.m.) NEW YORK, August 16. Litle America reports say that further news from Air Poulter at Bolling Base concerning Samuel Byrd’s experiences states that the latter was at one time convinced that he had reached the limit of his endurance. A note was hung over his 'table, dated June 16th. referring to letters that he had written to various, people, and stating where letters would be found He had also written Poulter and his party a. note, apparently thinking that the tractor would arrive too late.
