REEFTON, August 15. Air T. Watsou, junr., and daughter, left yesterday Christchurch on a short visit. The monthly 'meeting of tho WjC.T.U. 'was held in Wesley Ilai yesterday, the President. Airs Thomp son, occupying the chair. After the opening exercises, the speaker for the afternoon. Rev. W. Fairlie Evans, addressed the ladies in. a va;:y able* manner, the subject chosen for In address, “Spring Cleaning,” being very appropriate. He dealt with the subject from the home, church an 1 community viewpoints., and at the conclusion a hearty vote of thanks v.o Mr Evans for his helpful address was carried by acclamation. Two nr-' I-embers were welcomed, and th' serving of a verv dainty afternoon twu concluding a very successlu meet ing.
lnangahua Rugby Sub-Union met at ikamatua last evening. Preser Messi's J. Crossman (chai>), L. R. Austin, J. Green, F. 3. Alalley and H. Kearns. It -was res'olved that ’otter bo sent to Air F. Bellamy, expressing thanks for his assistance to the junior players in conveying them to Greymouth in time to play their match last. Saturday. Mr J. Green was elected a Vice-President of the Union. The Secretary reported having received a number of rule books, and it was decided to supply them to the clubs at Is pe'.a copy. Fixtures were drawn up for Sunday. August 19th, as follows; Junior—Cronadun v. Waratah. 1.30 (Mi- R. Yellowlees); senior—Waratah v. Black's Point, 3 pm. (Air P. Gallagher). These games arc to be played at Robe’. tson ’s Paddock. Ikamatua play Stars at Ikamatua, 2.30 (.Mr A. Bradley). It was resolved to ask West (toast Union to send up a Greymouth B team to play Ecefton on Ih<* day the Greymouth A team play Hokitika, and also ask them to arrange a third grade team on a Sunday.
