PASSENGER VESSEL SINKS. (Aus. & N.Z. Cable Assn.) BAHIA (Brazil). August 14. Thirty persons are believed to have been drowned to-day in the sinking of a passenger steamer in the San Francisco River. FIJI STRANDING. SUVA, August 15. The In verbank was stranded yes terday at Ohaumimasi reef, when en route from Suva to Wellington. Tin: ship is in sheltered water, with ap parently no damage done. An attem; to refloat the vessel at high water failed. Assistance is required and the Malake will reach the Inverbank to mor now.
