PERRY IN AMERICA. MOVIE CONTRACT WELCOME. (Aus. & N.Z. Cable Assn.) (Received August 15 at 5.5 p.m.) NEW YORK, August 14. Fred Perry arrived in the Majestic, to defend his United States singles title. He found himself in great demand. He has an offer from Tilden to turn professional, but says he is not. interested. There is also an offer to make a motion picture at Hollywood. In that he is much interested. In playing, however, he seemed not to be interested at all. “I am tired! Hang it,” he said. His trouble seems to be that in order to keep in form he must play a lot of tennis, but he gets fed up. He said: “I have to keep going. I can’t lay off and keep in form. I tried resting once for six weeks. Then I went into a match. I was as nervous as a cat. I couldn’t play at all.” NEW YORK, August 14.
