(Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, August 14. The weather report and forecast are as follows-. General situation: Pressure is still high to the eastward, but a deep and widespread depression now extends from the westward on to New Zealand. Forecast: Strong northerly to north-westerly winds, reaching ga force in places. Seas in New Zealand waters rough generally. Eastern Tasman Sea: Strong north to west winds to gales, and rough to heavy seas. Weather unsettled and squally, with general rain, many heavy falls being likely, especially in the central and western districts. Considerable flooding is probable on th e west coast of the South Island. Temperatures mild.
