REEFTON NOTES
(Our Own Correspondent.) REEFTON, August 14. The death took place at his residence, Rotokohu, yesterday of Mr Rich Rowe, a well-known and much respected resident. He had resided there for upwards of 20 years. He was a native of Woolwich, England and was 69 years of age. H c had been in failing health for some considerable time and hi?» death did not come as a surprise. He is survived by Mrs Rowe. The interment will take place to-mor-row. There was a large attendance at the “Ma'd Hatters” Ball held al Sation Creek on Saturday evening, including several visitors from Reefton, the hall being packed to overflowing. The ball was a great success. The music supplied by the Broadway Boys’ Dance Band was greatly appreciated. while th e supper dispensed was of the very best. Extras wer e played by Mrs Currie and Mr McDonald Mr Robt. White proved a ver v efficient M.C. A
competition for the funnies't hat was won by Mrs Poulter (Honey Pot) and Mr R. Gibbs (the cow with the crumpled horn). A streamer waltz and u lucky spot dance were aJso decided, and a lucky snowball dance was won by Mr Mick Turner.
