Large Expansion IN PROPOSALS INDICATED. (Aus. and N.Z. Cable Assn.) (deceived August 14 at 11.10 p.m.) WASHINGTON, August .13. The new five year naval air expansion programme for the United States, calling for a big increase in the number of fighting aircraft and of pilots, is being drafted by Chairman Vinson of the House of Representatives Naval Committee, in co-operation with the Navy Department. It is for presentation to next Congress.

Chairman Vinson told the reporters that the programme will call for the construction of up to twenty-one hundred naval planes, which already have been authorised by Congress, but haye not been appropriated. It also provides for the development of the Philadelphia Naval Aircraft Factory, and for an increase in the facilities at the Pensacola (Florida) Naval Aviation Training School.
