A trop'iral cyclone is centred af the New Hebrides. Forecast: South-westerly wind s predominating in the Auckland province; northwesterlies in eastern districts; elsewhere, westerlies. Winds moderate to strong generally, and reaching gale
force at times in Cook and Foveaux Straits. Seas in New Zealand waters rough in Cook and Foveaux Straits; areas elsewhere moderate. Eastern Tasm-an Sea: Moderate- 'to fresh southwest to north-west winds and moderate seas. Weather for th r most part fair to fine, warm and hazy, hint scattered showers at times in Westland und the far south.
