PEREIRA v. BLAKE. A SCIENTIFIC BOUT. WELLINGTON, June 19. Tn eight rounds of clever and clean wrestling, Al Perera, 15st 101 b, defeated Whiskers Blake lost, before a large audience at the Town Hall, by two falls to one. The contest wa h marked throughout b v scientific wrestling, and was devoid of showmanship. Pereira secured a fall in the third round with a severe head scissors, and Blake evened in the sixth round with a body scissors and headlock. Pereira secured the deciding fall in the eighth and last round with a back-slam. PATTERSON v. WALKER. A DRAWN BOUT. AUCKLAND, June 19. There was a very strenuous wrestling contest to-night, when Jack Patterson, of America, drew w’oh George Walker, New Zealand and British Empire champion. at the end of ei/nt roans Each man gained one fall, Patterson getting the first with a press, after lifting his opponent and dumping him heavily. Walker evened in the next round with a slam, following an aeroplane spin. Patterson put up an unexpectedly fine resistance, especially in the final round, -when he was almost continuously fastened in hammcrlocks. He was obviously in great difficulties, but he refrained from submission until the gong saved him.
