FIRE IN HOTEL

£25 NOTES BURNT. (Per Presg Association). WAIPUKURAU, June 7. Fire broke out this afternoon in the room of the proprietress of the Le* viathan private hotel, Mrs Fergusson, who lost £25 in notes left in a drawer of her dressing table. The origin 'of the fire was a mystery. The room was empty at the time, and the door locked. A window was open. The room was badly charred, also the outside wall. The brigade stopped the fire spreading any further.
