June 12. the Greymouth Philharmonic Society will present the concert version of that famous opera “Faust” (Gounod). The choice of “Faust” should leave little to be desired, and under the able baton of Mr F. Restieaux, there is every reason to believe that the opera will
be given a pleasing interpretation. The Soci’ t.v, with an orchestra of twenty, and a choir numbering fifty, is a well balanced combination and it is safe to state there will be a large audience to hear those old favourites, “The Jewel Song.” “Flower Song.” “When All Was Young.” “Hail Thy Dwellings.” “Even Bravest Hearts,” “The Calf of Gohl” and “The Soldiers’ Chorus.” The selected soloists

kins. Mrs C Moss. Mrs C. Roach. The special engagement of Miss Lynn should be welcomed by all, for time and gain at competitions festivals and on the concert platform she has proved herself eminently suited to operatic roles. That Mr Fred Res-
tieaux is conductor, should convince the most seoptigal that the performance will be a noteworthy one, for Mr Restieaux’s ability has won him a high reputation in Coast musical circles. This -will be Mr Restieaux*s last public performance in Greymouth, for he will leavo towards the end i«f this month, for Hawera,. en route to Australia, where he intends to reside.
