AIRS LONG FINED. CHRISTCHURCH, Alay 8. At the Supreme Court to-day, Alyrtle Long, married, convicted of discharging a revolver with intent, was ordered to pay the costs, £24, of the two trials, to enter into a recognaisance of £lOO to keep the peace, and to come up for .sentence if called upon, within two Judge AfcGregor said he agreed with the recommendation of the jury to mercy. In ordinary circumstances, such a serious offence would call foi gaol for some years, but in view of Iho extraordinary unique circum stances, he did not intend to deprive the prisoner of her liberty.
