WELLINGTON DROP Except Best Sort (l‘< r press Association). WELLINGTON', March 9. At Wellington wool sale to-night, superior crossbreds generally sold at prices fully linn on February rates. Medium ami coarse crossbreds declined a farthing. Inferior sorts wore a full halfpenny lower. 'l'he total offering was about 19,000 bales. It was a com pa rat ively small one, being 11,000 bales below the limit set by the New Zealand Wool Commit t(H', and 0000 less than offered at the corresponding sale last season. The quality of the wool was not outstanding. It largely comprised medium topmaking crossbreds. There was a full bench of buyers, representative of every section of the trade, including a. strong Japanese contingent. Bidding at times was inclined to drag. About 90 per cent, of the offering was sold. 'l'he range of prices was: Merino, average Sd to S.Jd, inferior Gj’d to 7]<l: line lialfbred, average Sd to 103<l, inferior 6<l to 7:Jd; medium halfbred, average 7 J<l to 10(1, inferior 4M to 7,|.
