BAND CONTEST
CIVIC AND WESTPORT BANDS LEAVE.
The Greymouth Civic Band and the Westport Aluificipal Band left by yesterday’s express for Dunedin to compete at the Dominion .Contest which commences there to-morrow. The Westport Band played a selection at the station prior to the departurne of the express. The only io] resentative of the Greymouth Alunicipal Band at. the contest will be Air L. Carruthers, who will compete in the New Zealand champion, ship trombone solo. Afiss K. Giescking accompanied the Civic Band as official accompaniste. The following members of the Civic Band will compete in the sections outside the full band’s programme: —
