N.S.W. DEBTS. SYDNEY, September 22. The Auditor General’s report concerning the finances of New South Wales, states that the public debt during the year increased by 23| millions bringing the total State public debt to 303£ millions. Receipts for the unemployment relief fund for 12 months were over six millions compared with four and a-quarter in the previous year. Interest payments amounted to £15,726,989. The report adds that 83 p r cent, of the unemployment relief tax was spent on food relief. The Family Endowment Fund failed 10 meet the claims and expenses by £1,068,006, and at June 30 was £2,498,978 overdrawn. Incom e tax decrease i by £2,772,334, and at the close of the rear £1.413,699 was overdue, chiefly because of the barricading of the taxation office during the conflict with th P Federal Government. Between 25 and 30 men were employed for five weeks at £6 10s each to guard tho office.
