Before the Magistrate (Mr Mosley to-day, Herbert Edwin Barnsley, age< 52, accountant, was charged that on Jul. 22, he received 275, and fraudulent 1; omitted to account for 18s of tha sum, thereby committing theft. Ar cosed was remanded until Septcmbe 29. in order that further inquiries maj be made. Bail was allowed. The police said that the case wa: peculiar, and certain alleged reci'ipt' were said to be forgeries. Barnsley I had been connected with the Laboii Defence League.
