WAIUTA NOTES.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) WAIUTA, September 22. Mr J. Beatty, who is an inmate of the Reefton Hospital, is making satisfactory progress. Mrs J, Uren, wild has been seriously ili in Reefton, is showing a slight impt ovement. Mrs J. McNamara (Blackwater) is an inmate of the Reef ton Hospital. Mrs F Bowey, who has bee n spending a few days in Greymouth, has retained home., Messis R. Williams, G. Scotf and JWalsho (Greymouth) were visitors for the week-end. Messrs T. 11. Lee, 11. T.ee (junr.). J. B. Auld and Fenton (Reefton) were visitors hore on Tuesday. The newly-formed Blackwater League Ciub defeated Waiuta at Blackwater on Sunday by the large margin of 36 points to 10. The Club have been granted affiliation to the Coast Centre, and will make their appearance in the junior grade next Sunday, when they meet Waiuta in the Knock-Out. Competition. The team is composed mostly of former Ikamatua Rugby players, and judging by last Sunday 's dis play, should give a good account, of theselves.
Lovers the light fantastic, are reminded of the Ball to- be held in the Miners’ Hall, on Saturday evening, after the, pictures, in aid of the Catholic Church funds. Excellent arrangements are being made by the energetic The Diggers ’Orchestra (Blackball) will supply the music. During the evening Miss Vera Cooper (Greymouth) will give an exhibition of National and tap dancing. Picture patrons are reminded that the picture programme will commence punctually at 6.45, o’clock,
