BRITISH SUBMARINE STRIKES STEAMER. (British Official Wireless.) RL T GBY, June 28. While the submarine Rainbow was leaving Portland Harbour she came into collision with the s.s. Premier, a small pleasure steamer. The Rainbow sustained only superficial damage. The steamer was holed on the starboard side, and returned to Weymouth, the passengers being transferred to the submarine, and subsequently lauded. The steamer, leaking badly, was towed into Weymouth by two motorboats. She had one hundred and fifty passengers aboard- No one was hurt. NEWFOUNDLAND MINISTRYST. JOHNS, June 28. Sir R. Justice Kleffel, who presides at the Court punishing motorists for exceeding the speed limits, scouts the suggestion that vengeance has prompted the theft of his motor car three times in a fortnight. He is convinced that nine is an unlucky number. His car’s registration is 99-999.
