What Will Mr Coates Do ? (Per Press Association). WELLING TON, June 9. Mr J. G. Coates declined to indicate his intention in regaid to Ottawa when interviewed to-day. He said that he would determine his position when the time comes for the delegation • o leave. MR. FORBES S DECISION. WELLINGTON. June 9. The Prim e Minister (Mr Forbes) has so far received no communication from London or Ottawa regarding hi s decision to withdraw from the New Zealand delegation, although if is consider«‘d in the city that very great disappoint!:: uit will bp felt ai the necessity for his decision. “Are there a«y circumstances under i which you might reconsider your decision not to go to Ottawa.” Mr Forbes was asked to-day. “None whatever.’’ he replied. “My decision i s quite definite, and it represents my final judgment i n the present situation. The position, otherwise, in regard to the delegation Mr Forbes added, was unchanged. No consideration had been given to the possibility, in the circumstances, of an ••arlier opening of Parliament. Mr Forbes said, and replying to a question as to the need for meeting possible anomalies in the Finance Act and The National Adjustment Act. he said that ho had not come up against any serious anomalies so far. and if there were any anomalies or injustices they would be exposed only after some experience of the provisions of the Act. Mr Forbes stated that Cabinet was still considering the question of accepting a tender for the nciy State Fire building in Christchurch. ANOTHER DELEGATE. NELSON. June 10. The Government could welcome a discussion on these ’mportant questions at Ottawa, but bp did not consider it desirable to xpress any detailed view in advance »f such discussions. COMMEMORATIVE STAMP.
