SOCIALIST REGIME State Banking (Aus. & N.Z. Cable Assn). SANTIAGO, June 9. The new Socialist Junta, to-day- ordered all deposits in foreign currency at the various banks: to be turned over to the Government.. The banks wore instructed to give the depositors peso.', at the legal rate of exchange. The new Government has begun to put its Socialist policy into operation. The ( ential Bank, created in 1926, has been taken over and the Board of Governors dismissed. The Government will name a new board, which will operate the bank along lines similar to the Central Bank. Provincial authorities have neon directed to suspend taxes on properties whose owners have not enough money to pay. School teachers have been informed that an important part of their work henceforth, will be directed on education towards Socialism, in order to 4 ’orm a public conscience, which will support the new Socialist Eepublic.
