WEST COAST COALMINERS
New Terms SUBMITTED BY COAL OWNERS. Contrary to the procedure heretofore, the West Coast Miners’ Union have just received from the N.Z. Coal Mine Owners’ Association a list of terms, as to the wages and conditions, under which the mine owners state they intend to work the mine for the future. Each individual union, instead of as previously, the miners’ district organisation, has received a copy of the terms of the owners. There is, it is understood, no suggestion as to a conference. To-morrow a meeting of the West Coast Miners’ District Council will be held at Greymouth to consider the matter. The delegates will on Monday submit to their respective unions a report on the meeting, and there will be stop work meetings at each I mine to receive the reports.
