Easier at Addington YESTERDAY’S SALE. (Special to “Argus.”) CHRISTCHURCH, March 30. Prices in many sections had an easier tendency at the Addington live stock sale to-day. There was a big offering of store sheep. The sale is reviewed by Messrs H. Matson and Co. as follows:— There was a large yarding of store sheep, mixed in quality, and including several attractive consignments o< Romneys, fine wool two-tooths. Betterclass sheep were a shade firmer. Other sorts were duller of sale. There was a full yarding of fat sheep. Ewes comprised the majority. The market was slightly firmer. Best prime wethers sold to 20s 4d, heavy 17s to 18s, medium 15s to 16s, light 13s to 14s. inferior from Ils. Best prime ewes sold up to 16s 7d, heavy 12s to 14s, medium 9s to Ils, light 6s to Bs. There was a large yarding of fat Icmbs, with a good percentage of prime quality. Competition was keener than at the previous sale. Best heavy prime Lambs sold to 23s 4d, prime heavy 17s to 20s, prime 15s to 16s 6d, medium 13s to 14s, light from 10s. The store lambs comprised over six thousand head. Anything fit for finishing off maintained -values. The other lots were irregular. There was a larger yarding of beef. Values were easier. Extra heavy steers sold to £l2 7s 6d, prime steers £9 15s to £lO ss, medium steers £7 5s to £8 10s, light from £4 ss. Best heifers sold to £lO 2s 6d, prime £5 15s to £7 ss, light from £3 15s; best heavy cows to £lO, prime £5 5s to £7 ss, medium £3 15s to £4 10s. inferior from 30s. There was a small yarding of fat pigs. Porkers were firmer. Baconers sold •at late rates. Porkers fetched from 28s to 325, heavy 34s to 35s 6d. choppers £2 to £4 18s, baconers 36s 6d to 45s 6d, heavy 46s 6d to 50s, extra heavy to 54s 6d. Store pigs wore easier.
