BELL HILL NOTES
(Our Own Correspondent) The weather here has continued to be very; hot. All of the residents have been carting water to their homes, and are eagerly awaiting rain. Mr W. C. Lische, Managing Director of the Bell Hill Sluicing Claim, has returned to Christehui-h after spending a week here watching the progress of the new dam. Mrs and Miss Bell, of Kumara, are spending a few days here. Miss Eileen Minotti is spending a few weeks in Greymouth. Mr John Carroll has returned after witnessing his niece, Miss Callinan, a- i n in the Canterbury championships. Bell Hill residents are very sony to learn that Miss Glasson, teacher at the local school, is resigning, and she will be greatly missed both by children and parents. Bell Hill has wo n the Dowell thicket Shield, defeating Kotuku ou Sunday by no less than at innings and 93 runs. The game was played nt Bell Hill before a large attendance.
