(Aus. & N.Z. Cable Awi). SYDNEY, March 16. Attempting to break the Hobart tc Sydney sailing record, the yacht Oimara, was forced to anchor in Bate man’s Bay, last night, owing to a ris ing southerly. She cannot now achieve her object. VARSITY BOAT RACE. SATURDAY’S EVENT. (British ‘Official Wireless.) RUGBY, March 15. The University boat race will be rowed on Saturday morning over a course about 400 yards shorter than usual. Owing to structural alterations on a bridge which cause violent currents at the usual starting point, the authorities have agreed that the race should begin at opposite the London Boating Club, and that the finish should be at the usual post at Afort lake.
