FORGED TOTE TICKETS. DUNEDIN, March 14. .Tn the Police Court. Robert Jolly, labourer, aged 62, pleaded guilty to attempting to cash five £1 forged totalisator tickets at Wingatui on Febru ary IL He was committed for sentence. The tote clerk thought the tickets were genuine, and stamped them. He then noticed that they did not appear in order and asked accused to wait. lie discovered they were forgeries, and, on returning, found accused gone. £2OO HOTEL BURGLARY. CHRISTCHURCH, March 15. At the Magistrate’s Court to-day, Leonard Walter Downing and Stanley Gibbard Hazeldino, pleaded guilty to breaking and entering the Club Hotel. Sydenham, on January 1. They were committed for sentence. This was a .sequel to a daring robbery, when the thieves stole the hotel safe and contents £2OO.
