THE COMMUNICATIONS MONOPOLY. (Aus. & N.Z. Cable Assn.) LONDON, March 13. Cables-Wireless, Ltd’s position promises to develop into a City scandal, according to one commentator. The preference stock has fallen to fortyfive compared with last year’s high level of seventy-eight. The market value of the Company’s securities has declined from a par value of fifty-two millions sterling to fourteen millions. The “Economist” declares that stock-holders ought immediately’ to be told the true position. The capitalisation should bo immediately rectified.
